About ten days ago, I was in a car accident that shattered my left leg. I woke up after the emergency surgery and had no family with me for days. During the first seven days, I had six additional surgeries. One surgery is terrifying enough, but it's about impossible to put into words the fear of facing six. Sabrina made all the difference in the world. Don't get me wrong there is not enough paper to allow me to commend and give credit to the staff here at UTMC. Sabrina educated me on what had been done for me. She had such a sense of confidence that I knew in my heart I was going to be okay.
Sabrina spoke very highly of her co-workers, so I had confidence in their abilities without knowing them and every word she spoke came true. She went above and beyond to see to my needs, my comfort, and overall health. Sabrina walked me through this traumatic event every step of the way.
The genuine love Sabrina has for her job shines through in her work. From the basic things, such as making sure I stayed hydrated, ate properly, and had supplies, to more serious care, such as wound care, pain management, and calling pre-op prior to one of my surgeries because I was pale, which saved me from going to surgery with a low blood count.
It was impossible to be down and depressed because her consistent smile and kind words lifted me up immediately when she walked in the room. Sabrina made me feel like family; I never felt like a burden. She is everything you could want in a nurse. Her passion for her work shines through daily. When I return for more surgeries, I pray I'm on her floor and she is my nurse. She is my guardian angel and I will always be indebted to her!

Lord, what a woman! This was the first night I ever spent with my mother in a hospital since she has always been healthy except for Alzheimer's disease. Mother was so agitated and listless that I was experiencing a major meltdown, but then along comes Sabrina, a night-shift nurse. I believe she has seen it all! She knew a lot of tricks to pacify Mom. Sabrina listened and consoled and because Mom was having a very rough night, she set up her "rolling station" in Mom's room. What an angel, I will never forget her!
