We are so grateful Mom was placed under Sabrina's care, especially during her decline.
Our family went through one of the toughest times in our lives when our Mom was admitted suddenly to the hospital. Shortly after admission Mom was placed on the Pulmonary ICU floor. The group of doctors and nurses were incredible However there is one nurse who was our shining star. She exhibited a caring heart and a loving soul. Her personality was cheerful, comforting, and compassionate to all of us.

I have no words to explain what this angel did for our family. We are so grateful Mom was placed under Sabrina's care, especially during her decline. Mom was so scared and so were we. Sabrina explained everything to all of us and helped us understand what was going on. She really helped to alleviate our fear and my Mom's. Mom needed to be put on a ventilator and when it was eventually removed, she needed a full face mask. She was so claustrophobic, and Sabrina took the time to hold her hand and calm her down. Little did we know Mom was going to be on and off of the ventilator during her stay.

Sabrina played her favorite music when we weren't there. She was so concerned about Mom's physical and mental health. While no one wants to be hospitalized, Sabrina made it much more bearable for our Mom. When mom was off the ventilator she was so concerned about her hair and Sabrina made sure she looked beautiful. The care that she provided was more than any medicine could have, she really went the extra mile. She was always on top of everything, before I could ask for something she had already thought of it. We didn't want to leave Mom alone after visiting hours. Sabrina told us about a program that allows one family member to stay a night in the ICU. She helped arrange this for us. She has the patience of a saint and always used the greatest nursing judgment.

Mom took a turn for the worse and decline was inevitable. Sabrina helped arrange hospice to speak to us. She prepared us the best anyone could for what was ahead; Sabrina was with us at the end when Mom passed away. Her professionalism was outstanding. She is an exceptional nurse who provided extraordinary acts of kindness. We are all so grateful to her. She has left a forever impression in our hearts.

***

My 37-year-old brother was admitted for a stroke and spent the night in the ICU following a dose of TNK. The incident came as a shock to all of us as he is young and healthy. As an ICU nurse myself I went into overdrive looking for answers and possible causes. While I have spent many hours in the ICU as a nurse, this is my first time being a family member rather than staff. Sabrina spoke to me in a way that demonstrated respect for my background and knowledge and treated me and my family with patience and kindness. She took extra time to discuss his lab results, as well as his CT/MRI results with me. In short, she treated us with the kindness and empathy I hope to display to my patients and their families. Sabrina, thank you for taking good care of my big brother. Our whole family is forever grateful.
