My daughter was born five weeks early and required a NICU stay after I had an emergency C-section due to preeclampsia. I was extremely sick and completely heartbroken to be separated from her, especially because she is my triple rainbow baby. The thought of leaving her broke me in a way I cannot fully put into words. When I was finally able to see her, I met her nurse, Sabrina. In one of the darkest and most overwhelming moments of my life, she became a source of comfort, strength, and peace. Sabrina did not just care for my daughter; she cared for me too. She reassured me, lifted me up when I felt like I was falling apart, and showed me through her actions that my baby was not just being monitored but truly loved and protected. Because of Sabrina, I could breathe again and heal. She is a huge part of why we made it through our NICU journey, and I will carry gratitude for her for the rest of my life.

Sabrina shows compassion in a way you don't just see; you feel it. She cared for my daughter with such tenderness and intention, treating her like she was deeply loved and important. It was clear she believes in healing with compassion, faith, and excellence, and she lives that out every day. She met me in my fear and heartbreak with true empathy. I never had to explain how I was feeling; she just knew. Whether I came in overwhelmed, exhausted, or discouraged, she responded with kindness, reassurance, and a calm presence that grounded me. There was an immediate sense of trust with Sabrina. Leaving my baby in someone else’s care felt impossible, but she made it feel safe. She also brought our whole family into the experience, even helping our older daughters feel included and connected to their baby sister in thoughtful ways.

Her dedication is something I will never forget. She didn't just complete tasks; she stayed present, giving her time, attention, and heart to those babies throughout her entire shift. It is undeniable that she loves what she does. From celebrating the smallest milestones, like drops of colostrum, to supporting me on my hardest days, her love for nursing shines through in everything. Sabrina is truly selfless. She gave so much of herself to us during a time when we had nothing left to give. She didn't just help us get through the NICU; she changed how we experienced it. I truly would not have made it through without her.
