Our family had just moved to Clarksville three weeks ago. My husband was called out of town. I was home alone with my eleven-year-old daughter when I went in labor. My mother and my OB-GYN were one and half hours away. When I arrived at L&D I met Sabyl, my delivery nurse, she quickly gathered as much information as she could, it was 5 am so offices were not open to get the prenatal records.
As I learned I would not be able to have an epidural I panicked and became very upset and scared. Almost two hours past Sabyl's shift, through one of the hardest things I have ever done, she was there encouraging me and calming me down. By the time I delivered she had my blood, sweat, and tears all over her scrubs. She was my angel that morning when I had no one else. She filled in as my mom, husband, birthing coach, and grandmother to my eleven-year-old daughter. She will always have a special place in my heart. Sabyl is a true DAISY Nurse.
