June 2020 Honoree
sadie brimer, BSN, RN
My daughter was recently hospitalized for two weeks at Boone Hospital Center. As she is developmentally disabled, I stayed with her 22 hours out of 24 hours each day for two weeks. During this time I was able to observe the nurses and techs from Boone Hospital Center. What a great team! I was incredibly impressed with the quality of care given to my daughter. The staff was outstanding but one nurse was notably outstanding. Sadie was all that can be asked of as a nurse and more. She is knowledgeable, competent, compassionate, and above all, kind. She showed my daughter respect and kindness by involving her in conversations and explaining day to day activities and special procedures in a simple manner.
There is no specific example that I can give you to show you her worthiness as her caring was continuous and all-encompassing. When questions or problems arose, she efficiently addressed them. Her presence made a difference to my daughter and I felt all would be well when she was working. Thank you, Sadie, you honor your profession.
