I am nominating the Safe Patient Handling Committee from both TPMG departments ED and GI and all departments in KFH except NICU. The committee also has our RNs and PCT support staff as they are our mobility experts. This committee has trained and become superusers on all lift equipment for their department; they train and support other staff with recommendations. They have created highly reliable storage rooms/areas to store the equipment on each unit with information cheat sheets attached. They created their poster for Safety Week and shared it with the entire hospital. Hospital and TPMG injury claims are down for the first time in years! They have the speak-up culture and are creating change when it comes to safe lifts and mobilizing our patients.
