Recently I was hospitalized at Fair Oaks for CHF, COPD, and pneumonia and ended up in intensive care. Let me say that I know many hospital staff members contributed to my recovery, and I am very thankful to each and every one of them. But one person, Saghi Tehran, stands out as a superior caregiver in all categories and is beyond any possible expectation. I absolutely believe she saved my life.
When Saghi appeared, she entered the room with a big smile and immediately started to help me. She gave me the clipboard and reviewed my situation. She let me ask questions and she listened to me. She took the time and explained everything to me. Saghi became my advocate. She treated me with respect and gained my trust very quickly. There was no doubt in my mind that her intent was to get me well. I no longer felt terrified. She told the respiratory staff and all others to let me use the clipboard to communicate and they responded. She contacted my doctor and coordinated with the hospital doctor and got me the medications that I needed.
Even my doctor raved about Saghi's professionalism! Because of her efforts, I started to feel better and my breathing really improved. She made every effort to see that I was comfortable and had everything that I needed. Her goal was to get me off the tube and she surely accomplished her goal. Saghi is always five steps ahead of everyone. When they took the tube out, she was there with a big smile and one could see she was genuinely happy for me. In seconds she had a swab and toothpaste to make me feel better and cleaned me up immediately. All the time making me feel like she enjoyed helping me feel better. She never stopped. She anticipated my every need. She knew that I was terrified of what would happen when the tube came out, so she arranged my BiPAP set-up by my bed before it came out. This was a great relief!
Saghi could not do enough to see that I felt safe and received the best care possible. When I was alone and helpless, Saghi was the one who would listen to me. Over the years, I have been in a lot of hospitals and have had excellent treatment but Saghi exceeds all expectations. She is not just there to dispense meds and go home. She truly has the best interest of her patients at heart and wants them to be well. She obviously loves what she does, and I cannot thank her enough. Saghi is the best advocate anybody could ever wish for.
