I was worried when I first met Sahra, I did not think we would get along, or have things in common. She spent so much time educating me without me even having to ask. I could tell that she cared about me as a person because she made an attempt to validate that I understood everything she was saying. She has three babies at home, and I know if takes a caring person to come and care for patients like me and leave their babies at home.
Sahra also realized how important updating the board has been for me and took her time reviewing each section to make sure I understood everything. She even adds my vitals on the board and I really like that! When I asked her if she was coming back the next day, she told me she was not. She told that she is going to come to see me in the ICU after my procedure and make sure my family has what they need. She does not have to do this, but it means so much to me that she cares enough about us to do this.
