Mr. Salem Alshehri’s dedication as a nurse encompasses what the DAISY Award is all about. He didn’t seek recognition, but his tireless work, his ability to connect with patients on a human level, and his willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty made him an indispensable part of the hospital’s community. He proved that no matter how small the gesture, every act of kindness has the potential to change a life. Salem volunteers his time to provide nursing care for long-term patients during his off hours, assisting with tasks such as bathing, positioning, and shaving, as well as ensuring all necessary supplies are available for patient care. He also arranges spiritual trips to Makkah for patients to help fulfill their spiritual needs. Through his selfless service, Mr. Salem not only gave back to his community but also inspired others to think beyond their roles, reminding everyone that the greatest gift we can give to others is our time and compassion.
