I really must give most of the credit to Salina, her training, and her ability to help our mom get released.
Our mom was admitted to the Emergency Department and the ICU for a week for an infection. Mom was 88 years old with Alzheimer’s, a severe case. The nurses in the ICU were helpful for the most part. Mom was moved to a regular floor for care for another week. Mom had lost the ability to swallow and was hooked up to a feeding tube.
Our goal was to get her out of the hospital so she could return home. The only way it was possible was because of how hard Salina worked with Mom. Salina was the one who got Mom to start eating again, and that was not an easy task. Salina's patience, helpfulness, kindness, and friendly support got Mom to swallow and made it possible for her to be released. Salina worked with Mom for a week.
We truly believe it was Salina's professionalism, caring, and help that allowed Mom to be released. She was so happy to be at her home! She was released and driven home. The next day, my mom passed away. We are thankful that she did not pass at the hospital.
I really must give most of the credit to Salina, her training, and her ability to help our mom get released. I hope Salina is recognized for her dedication and hard work to her patients. She is a unique and special nurse.
