She molded me as a new graduate nurse when I first started my nursing career into the best version of myself, and I would not feel so proud of the work I do without knowing she influenced every step of my journey.
Salomey is the epitome of an extraordinary nurse. She is compassionate, hardworking, selfless, and just overall an essential part of the nursing staff. She embraces everything in her job to the best of her capabilities. She provides top-level care to her patients and equitable help to her coworkers. As a charge nurse, she never hesitates to lend a helping hand to other nurses, or bare a challenging assignment with no hesitation. She is absolutely fearless and determined.
Not only does she have the most important traits of a great nurse, but she also advocates a great deal for all patients and is a critical thinker in challenging situations. She actively listens to concerns of the floor and not only participates in changing the culture for the better but ensures everyone feels seen and heard. She is always the go-to person on the floor when you are having a bad day and never fails to make me feel good about the work I do on days when I’m struggling. On one occasion, I was having a difficult shift dealing with a busy workload and emotional families and patients. She offered to not only pass out medications for my patient but also made sure I got a break — and I’m not the only nurse she will offer help to. She’s truly an outstanding nurse, and I am proud to know her.
