Sam was caring for a patient who had been hospitalized for 6 days. When speaking with an out-of-state family member, she was informed the patient had a dog at the home and no one nearby to care for the dog. Due to the patient's condition, he was unaware the dog was home alone. Instead of ignoring the situation, Sam assisted the patient's brother in contacting Animal Control. Animal Control then checked on the dog, fed it, and provided water for several days. Sam followed up with Animal Control to ensure the patient's dog was safe and taken care of. Sam went above and beyond for this patient and beloved pet.
