According to one of his Managers, "Sam is a wonderful nurse that is conscientious, always attentive to his patients, a team player, he has a can do attitude', he is always willing to jump in and lend a hand." Along with being and exceptional bedside nurse he is also a UBT Co-Lead and Relief Charge Nurse.

Sam was nominated for this award by a family as well as a nursing colleague. Although, Sam has won this award in the past, his continued extraordinary nursing care has led to this repeated recognition.

His focus on "patient centered care" and his ability to connect with his patients and their family is truly remarkable. Sam provides care with loving-kindness, compassion, and yet can remain entertaining and identify the patients "little quirks" in order to personalize their care.
