Sam has made me feel like family; she has gone above and beyond for caring for my wife in the ICU. She takes the time to listen, explain and just talk through things. Sam creates a bond with her patient and the family each and every day possible. She makes sure that everyone is taken care of as well. She makes sure that all questions or concerns are taken care of and has updates as soon as they hit the system. She does not even need to look them up. I nominated Sam for the professionalism and courtesy that she gives to not only her patients but also the families in the ICU. She will go above and beyond each and every day to make sure that we are taken care of and all questions are answered. Sam does the above by just being a person we can talk to and vent to. She is also caring and makes sure that we as a family know that she and those in the ICU are here for us and their patients no matter what.

Sam consistently will be looking for reports coming in and communicating with the doctors as needed and even before so that they can be on top of everything. The second Sam walks into the room she knows any updates or plans going forward, and if there are no changes to the plan, she lets us know that as well. As a whole, the ICU staff is just amazing, but Sam really stood out to me the last two days. She is wonderful to have as a nurse and really has our backs every step of the way.
