I didn't feel like I was just a body, but rather, she made me feel like a human and truly cared about.
Samanta took the time to ask me thorough questions about my symptoms to make sure I got the proper care. She went the extra mile to advocate for me with the doctor to make sure I got the medication that would help me the best. She was quick to respond when I needed anything, and if she didn't know the answer, she found it. Once we knew the diagnosis, Samanta even took the time to help educate me on things to help prevent another incident, and she did it in a way that made it feel like someone who truly cares about you would. Most ER nurses do try to educate, but I felt like she went above and beyond, especially when the emergency department was filled this morning. I didn't feel like I was just a body, but rather, she made me feel like a human and truly cared about. Being transgender can be challenging to navigate in medical care, but Samanta made me feel comfortable even after finding out my birth gender, which words can never express what that means. I went into the emergency room today dreading it (nobody likes going, but I have had bad experiences) and left feeling better, comfortable with my care plan, and, in a way, happy. Happy with my care and grateful that I had the amazing care given to me by Samanta. Thank you for everything you did for me, Samanta. You truly care about your patients, and it showed today.
