My son has been hospitalized for over two weeks with two surgeries. Sam was our nurse several times. There are two main reasons I want to recognize her. Sam was so thorough with the information she gave us, labs, changes, orders, etc. It didn't matter what; Sam showed her expertise in my son's medical care every day. She was also one of the most compassionate and caring nurses we've ever had. When our son had rough days, Sam was gentle in her care, easy with her touch, and understanding of his pain. As he slowly felt better, she made his hospital stay fun, entertaining and adventurous. She gave so much love when he needed it most. Finally, Sam provided support for us as parents during emotionally difficult times.
Sam went above and beyond in all areas of her care as a nurse and Children's Hospital is extremely lucky to have her.
