Her strong emotional intelligence showed through as she connected with and encouraged me throughout our time together. I wish everyone could have a nurse like her in their corner, especially in such stressful and unpredictable times as caring for a preemie in the hospital.
It's difficult to put into words how meaningful Samantha's care was to us. Her sincere concern for my physical and emotional needs, as well as our baby's, really made our stay at Aurora Sinai as comfortable as it could have been. There's not enough space here to truly tell all that she did for us, but she was instrumental in many ways, big and little. She was authentic and real with us in following up and truly trying to understand our concerns and cares from day one. She helped me establish a schedule for feeding and was very ready to answer all the questions and concerns I had as I embarked on my first-time breastfeeding. She helped me and my husband to get as much rest as we could by going above and beyond, especially in helping us set up and maintain the pumping equipment that I had to use for supplementing. She was cognizant and respectful of my needs and desires as a mother, especially and working with us on scheduling things through the night and being flexible. We had been given the green light to go home but it was getting late. The only reason we chose to stay was because we knew Samantha was going to be the nurse on shift taking care of us. If it had been a new nurse or someone else, I know we would have opted to go home, especially after four nights in the hospital already. Samantha took the time to go above and beyond with our care, truly showing her heartfelt commitment to serving those under her care. Furthermore, her strong emotional intelligence showed through as she connected with and encouraged me throughout our time together. I wish everyone could have a nurse like her in their corner, especially in such stressful and unpredictable times as caring for a preemie in the hospital. She was a gift and a Godsend for whom I am incredibly thankful for. Her encouragement and her advice, as well as her knowledge and aptitude, made both my husband and I confident and comfortable with her care.
