Sam told the patient that she would do all she could to be sure that the dog was taken care of.
Samantha was caring for a patient that was very I’ll and in need of serious medical attention. While treating the patient she was informed by the patient that she had a blind dog that was back at the hotel she was living at with only one pee pad and a bowl of water. Sam told the patient that she would do all she could to be sure that the dog was taken care of. That evening when Sam got off she (with the patient’s permission) went to the hotel and checked on the dog. She walked into what was an unhealthy living situation so she was trying to get the dog boarded at its usual place of care. After being unsuccessful due to not having a patient’s signature on a form, Sam had to bring the dog back to the hotel. The next day Sam contacted the patient care services at Condell to get help. They helped her get the dog, take the dog for a bath, and found out that she boards dogs. So the dog is safe, being taken care of while the patient gets medical treatment. That is going above and beyond her role as a nurse and shows amazing patient care inside and outside of the hospital!!
