My friend and her fiancé were involved in a horrible car accident. My friend was put into the NSICU while her fiancé was taken to the SICU.
My friend was extremely sick, maxed out on pressors, and was barely holding on. Her fiancé was in traction and had extensive damage to his lower body. During Samantha's shift, Rodney RN and Samantha RN took it upon themselves to move my friend's fiancé while in traction in the SICU across the hospital to the NSICU.
While at the time they may not have known the meaning of this visit, it was the last time that he would ever lay eyes on his 21-year-old fiancé.
While the tragedy of this accident is something that will never be forgotten by the couple's family and friends, Samantha and Rodney went above and beyond to give a priceless gift to my friend and her fiancé. Thanks to them and the time they took to do this, he got to see the love of his life one last time and they could tell each other goodbye.
Thank you Samantha and Rodney for your extraordinary act of kindness and your willingness to go above and beyond to give an unforgettable gift during such a hopeless time.
