Sammie received a patient with HELP syndrome who had a few days prior just delivered a stillborn infant. She instantly gained an unbreakable rapport with this patient and her family. So much so, that the patient asked Sammie to assist her in making the funeral arrangements for the baby. Sammie is a Med/Surg Staff RN who does not know much about this subject, but with confidence, sat at this patient's bedside and walked her through this difficult and emotional process as she assisted in making the necessary phone calls. Her compassion and sympathy touched the hearts of this patient and her family, calling Sammie "their angel".
Sammie is truly an amazing nurse and person! We are so lucky to have her as part of our team!
