Sam took the time to find out that my mom is a widow and gets lonely at home. Sam took some extra time to sit with her, just to visit and listen.
Sam was my mom’s nurse from the day she was airlifted to Sanford on Friday until Sunday of that weekend. Sam showed competence in caring for my mom when she was bi-pap dependent, calmness in settling her into her new surroundings, and care in how she interacted with her patient. Sam was always progressive in looking ahead and getting things done while keeping her patient involved in her care. What really struck me is how Sam took the time to find out that my mom is a widow and gets lonely at home. Sam took some extra time to sit with her, just to visit and listen. Sam also found out that my mom likes to do word searches, so she printed out a few for her patient so she would have something to do. It seems like a small thing, but all of these together made my mom’s day(s) and put the family at ease knowing our mom was getting not only competent care, but also compassionate care. My mom has been in and out of hospitals a few times over the last few months and Sam really stood out as a wonderful nurse. Thank you, Sam!
