When Samantha (Sam) entered my room it was as if a ray of sunshine had entered my room. I could see in her eyes that this was her life’s work and that she loved helping people. She exhibited such a level of compassion towards me that I knew I wasn’t a room number to her but I was a person who needed healing. She helped me to feel the most secure in the hospital than I had ever felt before. She would patiently listen to my questions and then answer them in such a way that I knew she had my best interest at heart and that I could trust and rely upon her. If we had more nurses like Sam, I know that those who are sick would recover faster because an individual’s mindset would improve and this certainly does play a tremendous part in the physical healing of an individual because it definitely helped me!!
