Samantha Larkey, BSN, RN, CCRN, CSC

Sam Larkey is a highly competent yet incredibly compassionate RN. She takes excellent care of every patient and has a wealth of knowledge in the unit. I personally witnessed her going above and beyond for one of her patients. Her patient spoke only Bengali and was going home on numerous new medications. In order to help facilitate a safe discharge for her patient, she personally went to the pharmacy and retrieved the patient's medications herself. She then called the interpreter and went over all of the medications with the patient for over 45 minutes while he wrote down the instructions in his native language. He even went on to write the instructions on each individual pill bottle to ensure he was taking them all correctly. The patient was so thankful for Sam and the time she took to really ensure he felt educated and safe going home. This is only a small snippet of the amazing care that Sam gives on KP14.
