My husband was admitted to 3 West and that team brought him back from the "jaws of death" with a transfer to ICU. He was transferred eventually back to 3 West, where he coded unexpectedly and died. I was by his side the whole time.
The whole team on 3 West was incredible, but specifically Samantha Macomber, who was with my husband the night he died. Samantha's focus was making sure my husband was comfortable the entire time. His care was quite complex. He had weeping wounds and Samantha took 30-40 minutes putting small dressings on them, rather than just covering them. I saw this as a great display of compassion and dignity that Samantha took the time to do that for him.
People hugged me and comforted me after my husband's death and I want the team to know his death was not in vain.
