Samantha Marano took care of a patient frequently over his 200 plus days in the hospital. She took care of not only his multiple drains and complex medical care, but also his emotional and spiritual needs as well. This young man considered Samantha to be a sister and she really picked up on the fact that silence and sitting with someone can be just what they need; she also found time in her day to sit with him and make him laugh. His family trusted her when they could not be present. Her presence was missed on her days off. She cared for this young man until the end of his life. I cannot stress enough the love, dedication, and excellent care provided in this case.
