Sami (Samantha) is being nominated for going above and beyond her call of duty to help me when I came into the hospital with no clothing on as I was found on the bathroom floor when EMS found me unresponsive. Sami knew I was concerned as I did not have anyone I could call to bring me clothes upon discharge and was worried about taking public transportation with a gown on. When it became apparent I was going to discharge, I asked Sami to see if she could help as I was getting worried and anxious. I only had to ask her once and shortly she returned with new pants and a t-shirt. She also advocated for me to be able to receive certain items from the menu when the doctor approved them and was able to get the kitchen to supply me with them. Samantha is very good at explaining what and why she is doing the things she does and always takes a moment to visit and make a joke and ask how I am doing. She made my day. I love her humor and personality and she brought me so much joy at a time when I was hurting and needed it the most. I want to commend Sami for her attentiveness, proficiency, and "can do" attitude to make things happen for patients.
