We had a patient that had been in the unit for a long time, poor prognosis overall, lots of care needs. Sam had been providing excellent care to the patient every shift, and providing good communication as well. Her heart came through the most on a certain day (well over 1 month into his stay) when she went through the trouble to take the patient outside on a Cadillac chair with an assistant. This is undoubtedly difficult and this was done all on her own selfless initiative. This was the first sunlight he had seen in over a month.

Sam treats patients like family, and is everything a nurse should strive to be.
