Every morning when she came into my room, she was a ray of happy sunshine.
I am a below-the-knee amputee. Sam was my nurse majority of my 7-day rehab stay. I was very nervous about my situation, to begin with, and this particular day, rehab was extra hard for me. I came back up to the unit for lunch and had my blood sugar taken, expecting to get my insulin. There was a delay, and it felt like no one wanted to tell me anything about my insulin and what amount I was getting. I got angry, and I really wanted to leave.

Sam being the person she is, came into my room and broke everything down for me and explained it to me just right! She was able to calm me down! She took the time out of her day to explain it in "J-lingo."

Every morning when she came into my room, she was a ray of happy sunshine. This makes everyone else happier, especially when you are in the hospital, and everything seems bad and gloomy. Anytime I had a question for her she knew her job and every answer to my questions. If she did not know the answer, she knew where to get it.

Sam is an example of what Nursing should be, she sets the bar high and keeps going. She is worth her weight in gold!
