Samantha Rangel was nominated because of her actions when a patient, who was battling a respiratory infection, had difficulty scheduling an appointment with a primary care physician. She found the nearest clinic for the patient and recognizing that there may be a language barrier, so she called the clinic and set the appointment for him.
