A dear friend of ours was hospitalized and became paralyzed. Samantha would visit her and the family, give them hope, and encourage them to be positive for the recovery of their family member, as at one point, they did not know if their loved one was going to live. Samantha continued to visit with them for the 2 1/2 months that their family member was hospitalized. When she came out of her coma and started moving again, Samantha would encourage her to do her physical therapy and stop and see her every day until she was able to walk again. The family thanked Samantha for all she did because, without her, they could have never gotten through the tragedy/trauma of the whole sickness and hospitalization of their loved one. Samantha went out of her way to help this patient/friend recover. Her compassion was exceptional, she consistently puts the needs of patients and coworkers over her own needs. Her acts of kindness extend past her duty hours.
