Sam Shepherd truly lived our value of compassion when she maintained professionalism and educated a family during their daughter's PICU stay, but did so with the utmost sensitivity and understanding in the situation. Here's Sam's nomination from this family:
"We were very fortunate to have Samantha for our last day of our daughter's PICU stay. We were also fortunate to have her for our first day on three west. She showed such patience and compassion. The continuity of having her with us through our daughter's transition allowed us the opportunity to experience and really learn how exemplary her clinical skills and professionalism truly were. She did all of this with such compassion. She took care of our daughter while also supporting us as her parents. I think she played a big part in my daughter's healing that made a real difference in how quickly my daughter improved."
