Sam was an incredible nurse to us. Our son C was having a lot of trouble coping with his horrible head injury and Sam's sense of humor and determination to make him smile really helped him turn a corner mentally. She is thoughtful and attentive and always made us feel like we were in the best hands possible. The day of C's transfer, she helped him through the painful process of getting "unplugged" from a tube that was inserted into his head after his brain surgery (for lack of a better description of his operation). She helped calm him and made him feel comfortable through the most horrible time in his life (so far). Afterward, he really flipped a switch and started to talk and smile more. I think she made him feel like he can get through anything. A feeling I hope is instilled in him for life. Her gift to him was invaluable to me and my wife. Thank you, Sam!
