When I came to the hospital, I was terrified, worried, and not sure of whom I could trust. I was a victim of physical abuse, as well as emotional, mental, and verbal abuse from my husband. Then I met Sam, my nurse. She has helped comfort me, listened when it seemed as if no one else cared, and helped me to feel better about myself. Always uplifting, smiling, caring, and took time out of her busy schedule to ask how I am doing outside of my wounds from the physical reasons for my stay here at the hospital. Sam may not know this, but she has helped me to not just be a "victim", as for I am so much more than that. I am a survivor because of nurses like Sam!
