My Uncle was recently a patient at Riverside. He was on the South Neuro Wing of the Pavilion. All the nurses, therapists, nutritionists, and technicians were helpful and professional. While all of the nurses are exceptional and worthy of The DAISY Award, I am writing about Sam. She worked the night shift several nights and we developed a trust with her. In my opinion, she is what a nurse should be.
Sam has the gift of compassion and caring in everything that she did. Due to my uncle's condition, I was able to spend the night in his room. Throughout the night, Sam would tenderly and compassionately look after my uncle, taking his vitals and making sure his needs were met.
On one occasion, my uncle was having a tiring/frustrating night; he made a request during her lunch break and without hesitation, she responded to meet his request.
Lastly, Sam is a person that you want to represent your hospital. I am confident that with her personality, knowledge, and professionalism she will be successful in reaching any goal that she sets for herself in life.
