Samantha went above and beyond her nursing duties to make sure I was calm, comfortable, and safe from the moment I entered the unit. I was having a hysterectomy done and had been sad about it. She spoke about the benefits as well as the most common benefits. She asked me about my hobbies and interests and kept me focused on those instead of worrying about my surgery. She checked on me frequently and let me know updates about the surgery ahead of mine. While I was in surgery and the recovery area, she kept my husband updated and made sure he was ok as well since there were complications with my recovery. When I was brought back to the aftercare room, she was right there waiting to see me to see if I needed another blanket or something to eat or drink. She went through my after-care with my husband and me, making sure I was comfortable before she left at the end of her shift. Samantha was truly a blessing that day with her patience, kindness, and wonderful bedside manner.
