I have had a great group of nurses, but the one that stands out is Sam. She treated me with compassion, respect, and concern. I wasn't a patient who required a lot of attention. Even though I didn't push my call button, she came in anyhow checking on me frequently. She noticed I was very anxious and I couldn't sleep. She advised me that I had Xanax ordered and offered it; something no other nurse had done. She showed me care and compassion to get my mind off of surgery and went above and beyond to make my family stop worrying while I was in surgery. She even called down to the OR to provide updates to my sister and boyfriend, in addition to frequently checking on them and any needs they may have had. I know it can get busy and overwhelming but not once did she come into my room without a smile or comforting words. She is a true DAISY Nurse.
