samara murdock, RN, BSN
Samara attended a nursing recruitment fair 11 years ago and was recruited to join the Maimonides family immediately after graduating from the University of Buffalo. Being around and caring for elderly family members since a young girl, Samara said "nursing was a natural connection for me".
She started her career on a Med/Surg unit, but felt drawn to the "excitement" of the SICU. "In SICU you really feel like you're part of a team and play an important role within that team. For me, there is more interaction with the doctors and my colleagues; it's fulfilling in a different way that I love" she explained.
Samara is married and has 3 children ages 4-8 yrs old. Her life outside of work is dedicated to her children and family, but she plans on going back to school next year. She is also studying for her CCRN. Samara can see herself being a Nursing Instructor in years to come "I'm a preceptor and love to teach and share with other nurses". The possibilities are endless!!
