Sammy was recognized for helping units that were in need of extra nurses during the surge of the pandemic. Sammy does not usually find herself on the front line, but rather behind the scenes leading our wonderful nursing teams and strategizing how to make our patient experience even better. When Sammy saw that nurses were being stretched thin, she put on her scrubs and volunteered to assist several times on the front line in caring for patients with COVID-19.
"Sammy was always willing to help in whichever way she could, not only with the nurses, but the patients and their family members," mentioned the DAISY Nominator. "She always radiated positivity and provided the most compassionate nursing care that illuminated her passion for this field."
