Patient-centered— Sam goes above and beyond patients' needs, helps not only the patient but family members/friends that came in support of the patient.
Respect/caring/compassion—puts others before himself. Has the ability to put himself in other people's positions to better understand and sympathize with their situation.
Teamwork—always helping everyone and anyone. Have never seen him say "No" or "that's not my patient". Is always first to help or offer.
Continuous learning and improvement—Sam signs up for non-mandatory educational trainings. He is the first to receive certs to excel outside/inside the ER.
Leadership—Takes charge but makes it a team effort when put in leadership roles of ER.
Sam is the most selfless, caring compassionate, and respectful RN in our ER. We are very lucky to have Sam. I just thought he should be recognized even though he would never ask to be or want to be!
