We are writing to wholeheartedly nominate Sam for recognition as an outstanding nurse. We have had the privilege of working with some exceptional nurses and medical staff at SickKids during our daughter's surgery, and Sam has truly stood out in every way. Sam's thoughtfulness, compassion, and unwavering dedication have made a significant impact on our daughter's experience during this challenging time. His ability to connect with her on a personal level and make her feel at ease with medical procedures is nothing short of remarkable. One aspect that particularly sets Sam apart is his understanding of the emotional challenges that come with being in a hospital environment, especially for a young patient. Despite the constant influx of people in and out of the room, Sam recognized the need for a more comforting and private space. Our daughter even requested that we make a "Sam Only" door sign. Sam's exceptional care extends beyond the medical aspect; he has a unique ability to connect with patients on a human level. His genuine concern for our daughter's well-being has not only eased her fears but has also provided immense support to our entire family during a difficult time. In recognition of Sam's outstanding service, we believe he is truly deserving of this recognition. His exemplary qualities as a nurse have not only made a positive impact on our daughter's recovery but have also helped our daughter ease into a routine during our 8-week stay here.
