My wife’s blood pressure had severely dropped, and her platelets were low. The wonderful nurse in the ER took really good care of her. They then took her to the MICU on the night shift. When I got to see her, Sam, was working on her. He told me he was working on getting a stable reading. I had to go to work the next morning. I thought it was safe to go home. While I was there Sam had to leave the room for a moment, so he had another nurse come in. He would not leave my wife alone. An hour after I got home, I received a call from clergy saying that I needed to come back in, that her blood pressure was so low, and they could not get it back. When I got back to the room, my wife was sitting up. Sam was watching her blood pressure. He had gotten it back up but told me her heart went into a fib and they had to shock her a couple times. My wife told me it was very intense and that Sam would not give up on her. He worked really hard on keeping her alive. If it were not for Sam and his dedication, my wife would not be here today. When he left at the end of his shift, you could tell he was worn out from working really hard on my wife.
