Sandi Elgert 2, RN

Sandi was the ICU nurse for a patient I took care of in the operating room. After a long surgery, the patient passed away in PACU. We called ICU to guide us through post-mortem care. Sandi was worried about his family, so she had us bring the patient back to the ICU so she could get him cleaned up for them to see him. She didn’t stop caring for him, she made sure he got the care he and his family needed. She is an example of the kind of nurse I want for my family member and one that I strive to be.
