Sandi was with us from the beginning of the visit to the end, and cared not just for our physical needs, but also cared for our hearts during this difficult time.
I would like to recognize Sandi- a nurse working at Longmont United Hospital in the ER department- for her extraordinary kindness and service my husband and I received from her. Earlier this year in February, we lost our baby boy at 11-12 weeks gestation. Though we do not live in Longmont, it was the closest hospital we could go to at the time.
Sandi was the nurse who helped us get all settled in. She made sure we were both comfortable and taken care of. She was with us from the beginning of the visit to the end, and cared not just for our physical needs, but also cared for our hearts during this difficult time.
I have never received such gentle and specialized care. She gave me something to eat and checked that my pain levels were manageable; she also let us know that this loss was not our fault.
At the end of the visit, she made sure to help us get our paperwork in order, wheeled me out in a wheelchair, and she even gave me a hug at the door. Though I am sure she saw other patients that day, I never felt like just a number to her.
Sandi was amazing and a true DAISY Nurse.
