I'm a pretty independent patient keeping to myself and trying not to bother the nurses. With a diagnosis of "cancer" and what's to come sure shocks one's self. Sandra appeared to realize that I needed someone to talk with during my quiet times. There would be times I'd be sitting alone in my room and Sandra would pop her head in and say "Miss R, you doing ok?" And cheerfully I'd say "yes". She had a special quality about her, an intuition that things weren't well with me and that I need someone to talk to. She would cheer me up and get me laughing, and laughter is the best medicine. It takes a special person to realize when somebody else needs someone to talk to, and Sandra had that quality. Talking with her was more like talking with a friend. Sandra is very professional and a very hard worker Thank you for everything.
