My husband is legally blind, hard of hearing and has other disabilities. He was scared to be in the hospital alone (without his caregiver). Once Sandy came in as his dayshift nurse, she was so assuring, and competent and never treated him like he was a burden. He quickly gained trust in Sandy and his anxiety was less. She talked to him about things that interested him like “Old Cars.” I felt he was in a good hospital with great staff caring for him when I was not there and that’s what’s important to me and my family. She thoroughly explained his medications and test results and procedures to me in a way we could understand! We are so glad that we decided to drive 84 miles so he could receive care from a Beaumont doctor, which afforded us a supportive staff that did such a great job. Your people consult with each other in a team approach, wrapped around the patient.
