My son was born with several health issues to include Spina Bifida and Aspergers. He’s had 32 surgeries and procedures so hospital stays scare him and can make him difficult to deal with. Sandi not only took care of my son but me as well. I lost track of the café hours when I realized I had not eaten since breakfast and the café was closed. After spending all day helping the nurses with my son, Sandi knew how tired I was and needed food. She took me to the employee-only snack area so that I could get something to eat. Also, I had been awake for 48 hours helping my son with his bowel prep. and was exhausted. Without asking, Sandi brought in a roll-away cot for me so I could stay in my son’s room and get much-needed sleep. I've met a lot of nurses during his many stays. But this special nurse, Sandi, took care of the patient as well as the family.
