Sandra often takes a personal approach to patients when it comes to patient outcomes. We were conducting rounds on tower 3, when we were interviewing a patient the patient disclosed how she had some concerns, number 1 the patient's television was not working right, Number 2 the patient had a horrible experience while receiving dialysis treatment, Number 3 the patient was a diabetic and did not think the diet ordered for her was appropriate and lastly she had a negative experience while in the emergency room. Sandra not only took the time to ensure everything was done, she immediately left the room and got right to work. She immediately asked for the patient to be transferred to a room where the television was working properly; she then spoke with the primary nurse directly, and they both navigated how to ensure the patient's dialysis experience was positive by ensuring a mediation was given prior to the dialysis therapy to ensure the patient didn't have excruciating cramps, and immediately asked for a nutritionist to come see the patient. She then followed up with the ECC manager to ensure the patient was visited that day to ensure the patient's voice was heard. This, along with so many little details, is why Sandra deserves to be recognized for her efforts. Working in leadership, there are very few thank-yous. She is the quiet force behind why the telemetry and medical-surgical departments function at optimal levels. I am both thankful and honored to work for her. We are blessed to have her as a leader here at AHWM/AHMB.

Thank you, Sandra L, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
