ER called to L&D asking for an RN to come and Doppler a patient that arrived at the ER via ambulance who said she was 20 weeks pregnant and under the influence. Sandra went to the ER and tried to get the patient to get on her back so she could monitor the baby's heart rate. The patient was on all 4's and uncomfortable. As soon as the patient was put into supine position Sandra noted that the patient was crowning. Sandra proceeded to deliver the baby and placenta as 3 ER doctor's stood and watched. Sandra was able to dry and stimulate the newborn who cried immediately and noted to be full term. Sandra handled the whole situation with confidence and ease. She is such a great person and nurse and deserves to be recognized!
