Sandra's co-worker nominated her after observing how Sandra cared for one of her family members. She had a loved one who broke his hip and suffered from Alzheimer's disease. Marie The staff would take him to the nurse's station so they could keep a close eye on him. Sandra made him feel secure and made us, as a family, also feel secure. Sandra made her loved one feel important by doing little things like patting him on the back, giving him a smile or listening to his stories.

He held her hand, not really knowing who she was, but said "I love you". Her kindness and love of others was seen, appreciated and will not be forgotten.


Sandra's compassion for her patients is obvious. She is described as an example of what all nurses should be. She is a great asset, and I am proud to call her my co-worker and friend.
