Sissy "Sandra" is always so sweet and helpful. Recently, our son got his PT/INR checked and it came back very critical. Sissy had called us to let us know. This was very scary news, but also very untimely news, as we were loading our family truck to head to Charlotte for the weekend for our son's ultimate frisbee tournament. It is only one of 3 tournaments for his senior year and he was so excited we were all going. He has had a rough year. His father had passed away and we knew he was going to take this hard. Sissy was so sympathetic and wonderful. We thought maybe this could be a lab error, so she called around until she found another lab that was open late on a Friday afternoon and faxed over a stat order. Sissy stayed at work and wanted me to call her once his blood was drawn, just in case there was any issue. We spoke back and forth at least 3 or 4 times, meanwhile she was also talking to the doctor. Unfortunately, it was accurate, and he was devastated we couldn't go. Sissy could not have been any better or sweeter through the whole process. She not only showed her concern for his cardiac health, but also his emotional wellbeing. She went completely over and above! On one of our phone calls, I had expressed wanting to get a home PT/INR monitor and she said that they could try to get him one and get it covered under insurance. Today, she was excited to call and tell me that all the paperwork had been completed and sent. She does not make us feel like just another family and our son just another patient. She lets you know she cares. She made a really tough time for our family, better and she worked to make sure that we could prevent this in the future. Our family is so grateful to her for all she does.
